- Monitors the various components of the criminal
justice system, such as prisons and jails, parole sentencing, etc
- Informs the membership and the public on the effects
of legislation/policies/proposals
- Provides facts, reasoning, and materials to
support TX CURE's stands
- Facilitates the participation of prisoners and
their families in public education efforts and in the law and policy
making processes
- Networks with other organizations to develop
broad-based support on common issues
- Speaks out on behalf of prisoners and their
families, providing balance to criminal justice discussions
- Maintains Web Site for organizing, and communicating
with membership and general public
